Sri Lanka’s technology services industry is transitioning toward more sustainable and performance-driven compensation models, according to SLASSCOM’s 2025 Compensation and Benefits Survey. The study recorded a 72% return rate from last year’s participants, highlighting strong industry confidence in the findings.
After extraordinary salary increases during the economic crisis, market increments have stabilised in 2025. Looking ahead, IT companies plan to introduce differentiated salary increases from 2026, rewarding top performers more aggressively, while BPM firms are projecting relatively higher adjustments overall.
The survey also shows growing interest in skill-based organisational structures, personalised benefits, and flexible work models. However, cash compensation remains the top priority for employees. While concerns over employee migration have eased, skilled professionals continue to pursue overseas education opportunities.
With 52% of respondents operating as Global Capability Centres, the sector remains a key contributor to Sri Lanka’s export services economy amid rising global competition.
